Re: Need translation on Carmelo Piscitello
I agree with Pippo that the infant in the death record is a female. It says she died at the age of 1 year on July 27, 1852 and had been born in this town. The problem is that, last night, I went through the birth records for a number of years going back in time, in case the age at death was wrong. I can't find a Carmela or even a Carmelo. I found that there was a son and daughter born to this couple on March 26, 1851 at 6 P.M. The boy was Domenico and the girl was Rosalia. The two records are below. So possibly the first name in this death record is an error.

Wouldn't that be a hugh mistake to put the wrong person's name on a death certificate?
I could only think it's Rosalia who died since she was born in 1851.

Re: Need translation on Carmelo Piscitello
Yes, now it would.
But at that time it was not unusual.
They just asked the declarants, and there was no check about what they said.
