I searched the forum, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.
I am about to write to the State Archives for my ancestors' military records. I'm wondering if I should send payment or offer payment (and, if so, how much?), if I should send a SASE (self-address stamped envelope with my request), if I should send one request at a time as to not overwhelm the archivist, if email is better than snail mail or vice versa, etc. Do I request the Liste de Leva, the Liste d'Estrazione? Any tips?
And as I don't speak Italian, if you can recommend any website that will create a form letter for these records, that would be fantastic!
Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you. Unfortunately those databases aren't turning up anything for me. I do have BMDs from the town that I found manually, though. I really wish those military records were online.mmogno wrote: 28 Apr 2017, 02:03 ARCHIVIO DI STATO DI AVELLINO
