I have have hit a stumbling block in my dual citizenship process. My grand father's birth date on his birth certificate is different than the date on his naturalization letter. Per the letter from Italy, here is what they say about the naturalization record:
1 ) In the documents related to naturalization , including the Immigration Office letter that refers to the naturalization certificate no . 4710334 , Zagnoni Paul is born on 4.25.1885 rather than ' on 24.04.1886 as per birth certificate . We have to produce a declaration of a local court stating the error in the date of birth.
I'm not sure how to fix this discrepancy and would appreciate any suggestions opinions. Thank you in advance!

Re: Dual Citizenship
The Naturalization Certificate is rather blurred. Are you certain it reads 1885? One way you can check this is to obtain the NARA records (declaration, petition, and oath). If it is only a one-day discrepancy, that would be explained by a delay in registering the birth by the midwife (a frequent occurrence).

Thank you...great suggestion!
Re: Dual Citizenship
As I look at the naturalization documents again, I note that he was listed as being 53 years old. Given that the naturalization date is several days before his birthday, the age listed is consistent with a birth year of 1886.
And, as I'm sure you've noted, the Declaration lists his birth year as 1886 as well.
