mmogno, thank you so much for looking at this, and so quickly too. It's fantastic and I really appreciate you expanding the abbreviations - thank you.

It might take a little while for me to understand some of this. When I first received the document from Italia, I remember being a little disappointed because, to me, it didn't seem to contain anything that I didn't already know. I also couldn't understand why nothing was noted between 1940 and 1947. Of course, this was because he was a POW (captured at the Battle of Bardia – 3 January 1841) - I was unable to decipher the word prigionia in this document, and am so glad you were able to. Counter Aircrafts? I didn't know anything about this. I knew that he was being trained for something but was told it had something to do with weather balloons??? Maybe a misunderstanding.

Do you know why he may have been called a year earlier for personal examination – would it have been a medical examination?

Thank you once again.

Yes! That makes perfect sense to me. Thank you, again. It's helped solve a mystery. Where might I find pictures of this? Did this military "occupation" have a name?

Thank you, I thought so. I had a look yesterday also to see if I could find the Journal but with no success.
Grazie, Angela

Hi mmogno: A big thank you for looking at this. The pictures are great and I really appreciate having them. I'm so glad I posted about the “weather balloons,” because otherwise I would have remained oblivious to what his role involved. The record here doesn't really say what he did in the army or even his ranking. His POW records fill in some gaps for me, but they are quite sketchy too. I've still got lots of questions but will work on what I have for now. Thank you again for your help. (I actually replied to your last post earlier in the day, but somehow it is not here. I possibly hit "preview" instead of "submit" or something.)
