Hi, please help us read a Birth record from Geraci Siculo.

It is the 1833 Marriage Act 9 - Antonio Alesso & Maria Iuppa - Gaetano Iuppa & Grazia Murgia

I've attached a copy of the record. If I read this right, Maria Iuppa's parents are dead and she is only 14 years old.

Geraci Siculo: 2 November 1833, 4 pm

Prospective Groom: Antonio Alesso, 24 yo, born Geraci, farmer, living in Geraci, Rua di Santo Antonio, son of Giovanni (Alesso), 53 yo, Borgese (Middle Class – small landowner), living in said Rua di Santo Antonio, and of Domenica Padalino, 45 yo, living therein

Prospective Bride: Maria Iuppa, 14 yo, born in Geraci, living in Geraci, Rua di San Michele, daughter of deceased Gaetano (Iuppa) and deceased Grazia Murgia.

It looks like the marriage details have been deleted on the right side column there, and there is no marriage date recorded, so not sure whether this marriage actually took place????? You have missed the middle two pages, which will include any allegati, and may give more info. The second page you have here is the last page which just has the witnesses names.

Thank you Angela .. I will look for the 2 other sheets when we go back to the FHC on Tuesday. This could be the reason that Antonio Alesso was not mentioned with Maria Iuppa on her 1936 Promise to Marry between Giuseppe Musciotti and Maria Iupps.
