Dated March 28, 1867 at 3 P.M. in the town hall of Lapio. Appearing was Nicolangelo Simone, son of Savino Simone. He was age 28 and a peasant in the town. He reported that at 4 P.M. on the 27th, his wife, Emmanuela Gianna (?)-this surname is currently found in the Naples area-living with him, gave birth to a male infant. In the body of the record, the infant's name is given as Giuseppe Maria, unlike in the margin of the record where it's given as Nicolangelo.

In case of discrepancy the actual name is the one written in the body of the act, in this case Giuseppe Maria.

Just chiming in. The mother's surname looks to begin with the letter "I" and is possibly Ioanna - a name found in the town Lapio.

They have made an error in the margin placing the father's name there instead of the new born, Giuseppe Maria.

Thank you all for taking the time to translate this. Yes, I was pretty sure that this was the birth act of my grandfather Giuseppe, but was confused by Nicolangelo's name in the margin.
