Help finding Italian Records

Trying to find Italian records for on my great-great-grandfather, Harry L Ross. He was born June 13, 1889 in Nicastro, Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy. I believe his fathers name was Joseph Ross and his mother, Mary Zebrowski (not sure if that's her maiden name). Based on American census records, it shows that he immigrated to the USA around 1905 /1906. He has an older brother named Frank Joseph Ross (or Joseph Frank Ross). I believe the last name (Ross) became Americanized, but am not 100% sure. I've attached an Italian birth record I found on the Family Search.org Italian WIKI page but I don't speak Italian so I have no idea what it says – I just recognized the names, Guiseppe Ross and Maria (but with wrong last name). Would love any help!

This is the birth act from December 1889 of a female child who was born without life to Giuseppe Rossi and to his wife Maria Mancuso, in the Comune of Catanzaro.

Can you post links to the US records you have? They may give us some clues.

Where in US did he live? What was his wife's name? children?

ONLINE records for Nicastro births end in 1857, and deaths in 1851.

• Marriage record of Harry and wife, Florence
• Death certificate
• a couple newspaper articles
• Family photo

Most of the information I have found is primarily in Lansing/Detroit area in Michigan, USA

Harry L Ross was married to Florence Melissa Romans

They had 5 children:
• Josephine Helen Ross (1916-1917)
• Arvena Hilda Ross (1917-2010 - my 2x great-grandmother)
• Evelyn Marie Ross (1919-1987)
• Joseph Frank Ross (1921-1982)
• John Paul Ross (1923-1984)[/list]

• Harry has a brother, Frank Joseph Ross (1888-1956).
• He married a Kathering Romans (Harry's wife, Florence, sister?)

They had 4 children:
• Mary Alma Ross (1912-2010)
• Joseph Paul Ross (1914-1978)
• Frances Genevieve Ross (1917-1993)
• Louis Frank Ross (1919-?)

Frank also lived in Michigan, USA but ended up moving to Califorina .

Where could I go to find Harry's birth certificate? Would it be common for Italians to have church records? What are some best ways to research his Italian side?

Hello. I am apart of your family. I am the granddaughter of Joseph Frank Ross who passed away in 1981. Great gf was Harry Rossi. My grandfather didnt talk about the family so any info you have I would love to see. I have the same picture of Harry and florence in my living room and I have His death cert too. Oh hi. Harry was my great-grandfather through my fathers side. His grandson, Wilbur Joseph Smith, was my grandfather, from Harry's daughter Arvena Hilda Ross (Harry's wife was Florence Mellisa Romans - I'm sure you know that).

Do you have an ancestry account? I've found numerous newspaper articles regarding Harry and his brother Frank. He got into some trouble in Detroit around the 1920's.
