Need help reading a Baptismal Record

Post by italian059 »

I am not sure if this is the record I am looking for or not. Would someone please translate the last record on the page. I see the names Vincenzo and Palazzo but can't make out anything else.
Thanks so much.

This record is dated Aug 25, 1807 for the baptism of Carmela Palazzo. Her parents were Vincenzo Palazzo and Giuseppa xxx Palazzo. They were a married couple of this town. The mother's maiden name is also given in the record, but I can't accurately decipher it. Can I ask what town and parish this record is from? That might help. Godparents were Vincenzo and Maria Genualdo, a married couple of this city.

The record reads that the baptism was "sub condizione" which I understand to mean that it was a rebaptism or that this infant had been previously baptized, possibly by a midwife, if it was in imminent danger of dying. The birth had taken place at approximately almost 4 in the night, but I don't know what the word is that precedes the word for "night" or "noctis" in the record.

Church records from Corleone. Parish of Monreale. Something like that. Going from memory. Wasn’t really what I was looking for. I found my ancestor’s name in the table of contents but when I went to the page, I never located her record. Will look again. Figure she was born between 1800 and 1810. Thanks again.

Thanks, Mary. I can never remember the towns and parishes specific posters are researching. Sorry the record wasn't the one you were searching for, but am always happy to practice deciphering the Latin records.
