Help with name

Post by Chocopies »

Hello, can someone help me determine the names in this document? http://i63.tinypic.com/142sqs8.jpg
It is from Sicily and is dated June 12, 1633.

The child's name I believe to be Giovanni Filippo Giuffre and the parents' names Desiderio Giuffre and Isabella Vecchio.

Isabella's parents appear to be Filippo and Paola Vecchio, but I am having trouble with Desiderio's parents. I can't make out the first name listed, and the second name, 'Gio', could refer to the first name's father or wife. So I am thinking it could be read as:

Desiderio Giuffre, son of __???__, whose is the son of Giovanni.

or

Desiderio Giuffre, son of __???__ and Giovanna.

I am leaning towards the first translation since the word before 'Gio.' really looks like 'di'.

Either way, I would love to know his father's name.

Also, could someone explain what all the names at the bottom are for? Thank you for you looking!
