Torino birth certificate

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Torino birth certificate

Post by Italiaup »

I am trying to request a certified copy of my grandmother's birth certificate from Torino but am having no luck. I have a copy of the record from My Heritage that shows all Get birth info. It says Italy,Torino,Torino, Civil Registration (Tribunale). I actually have her original baptismal record from the church that says it was a church in Vercelli.

I have sent an email several times to Torino asking if they have the record and what is needed to Get a certified copy but with no answer. Maybe I am sending it to the wrong place. Could someone tell me the address I would send it to?

I would appreciate any help. Thank you

Can you post the copy of the record from My Heritage here?

I filled out the official form and was going to place some euros in to cover the cost of certificates and return postage but the link for the Torino website says don't send cash. Any idea how I would pay? I have no problem taking a chance on sending the cash but not sure if this is correct.

Hi Italiaup!

I'm curious...were you able to obtain copies of the Atto di Nascita that you needed in the end? I have been trying to locate my nonna's in nearby Cuorgnè, and haven't had any luck. I've been sending emails and letters (in Italian and with copy of my driver's license etc.) over the past year or more, but have yet to get a response. Just wondering how this turned out for you!

cvmadd,
I have emailed the Torino Anagraf and emailed a form they require. I received an email back stating they received my request and a link where I can track the progress. It has been exactly a month and no progress. Really not sure how long it will take. :(
I am a member of a Facebook group that has a list of people that are in Italy who can Get the documents for a fee. I am thinking of paying someone to get it for me. I can't imagine waiting a year.
I wrote a letter to my husband's grandfather's Comune (San Martino Canavese) and I received it within two weeks.
