Having problems with the Italian language? Do you need help to translate or understand an old family document? There is always someone who can help you!
I am looking at a marriage record. I can pretty much make out the details at the top, could someone translate the bottom handwritten part for me? Also, does anyone happen to know what an X through a record means? It is the only one in this book. Seems odd to me. As always, I appreciate any assistance
The "X" means cancellation of record.
In fact, the last lines say the record was deleted because of missing declaration of the recognition of a natural child.
The record is correctly repeated in the following page:
Certificate requests and genealogical researches in Italy.
Translation of your (old) documents and letters.
Legal assistance in Italy for your Italian citizenship.
Thank you for pointing that out, I didn't even think about scrolling to the next record. I am very intrigued about this child they mentioned. If it isn't too much trouble, could you translate the new record for me? I appreciate it very much.

Here is the birth act for Michele Di Spirito - #1
Parents are listed as Antonio Di Spirito and Giovanna Ferrante. Antonio declared the birth and acknowledged that the mother was not his wife, or relative.
There is a notation in the margin for the marriage of his parents, Antonio Di Spirito and Giovanna Ferrante, and Michele's recognition as their legitimate son.
