My husband's grandfather was born Giovanni Piscopo from Acerra in February 1888 or 1889. He left for America in 1906 when he was about 18. The only information we have about his family is that he had an uncle Antonio Piscopo living (in 1906) in Chicago, IL. This was obtained from the ship passenger list. He also listed once that he had one brother still in Italy and that his mother was possibly ill around that timeframe. I'm wondering if anyone has relatives by those names in their past.
It is possible that his parents were Vincenzo Piscopo and Tomassina diMase....but we are not sure.

Thank you for these additional Giovanni's. I know the one who left in March 1906 is definitely him as those dates matched with what is on his naturalization paperwork.

Additional info....I've been trying to find information on the Antonio Piscopo in Chicago in 1906, trying all different avenues, but I can't find him anywhere. That's why I'm thinking if I could find a brother for Antonio, that might be Giovanni's father.

Here are a couple of Antonio Piscopo records that look like good candidates to be your Antonio in Chicago. Both about the right age for Giovanni's uncle, both from Acerra.ashevcarco wrote: ↑12 Aug 2018, 00:08 Additional info....I've been trying to find information on the Antonio Piscopo in Chicago in 1906, trying all different avenues, but I can't find him anywhere.
