Help Translating Baptism Records

Post by debbiemfitalian »

Good morning !

I have two baptism records that I would appreciate your help translating please. I can pick out the family names, but I want to make sure I have the dates correct, and also am having trouble with some the of the godparents names, and what is says after their names, and at the bottom of the page on one of them.

Thank you so much !
Debbie

Baptism of Gioanni Battista was on 3 April 1878 (born on the same day)
I am reading the godparents as Francesco Rista [of deceased Bartolomeo] of Montera(?)Roero; and Lodovica Nizza [daughter of Gio Battista] of this parish

Margarita was baptized on 20 March 1871 (born on the 18th)
Godparents: Matteo Costa [son of Gioanni], and Margarita Nizza, born Rista - both of Santo Stefano Roero

Thank you for your help Tressa.

One question if I may. So the godmother Margarita Nizza, Nizza is her married name? And her maiden name is Rista? I have never seen a married name used before on a certificate. I was assuming she would have been the sister of the father, Antonio. But it looks she is not.

Thanks,
Debbie

That is the way I am reading it.

Maybe another set of eyes can confirm or correct :-)

Also... the parish for Francesco Rista is Monteu Roero.
