Uncle in piemontese

Does anyone familiar with piemontese dialect know what Uncle is in piemontese.

I just did a search on google books and I found that in that dialect, the word barba is the dialect word for uncle and magna the dialect word for aunt

You're very welcome. This is a new one for me, as I'm used to the word barba meaning "beard." My husband has in his ancestry the surname Barbagallo, from a Sicilian town, and the surname translates to "yellow beard."

I don't know in Piedmont, but in Goldoni's comedies (in Venetian dialect) "barba" does mean "uncle".

Correction: the surname Barbagallo translates to "cock's beard."
