1942 Marriage Record ??

Post by Haztek »

Record #1 Marriage Luigi Crispino & Francesca Amatiello 1942

They are my aunt and uncle. Luigi is my father's older brother. This record is very interesting. They married in 1942 and it looks like with the exception on one child, all of their children are listed along with their birth date and the record number. The one child not listed, Rosa, died 8 May 1934 at age 9. I have her death record.

Does this record indicate that they married to legitimize their children? Would they have gotten married in the church at some point before they started a family? I only met them once when I was about 12/13 years old when they visited the US for several months. On my trip to Italy 4 years ago I visited the family house where they raised all of their children. My father and grandfather were born in that house and a cousin lives in it now.

Yes, with the marriage they legitimated all their children: 2 females and 8 males, including Benito who died, 5 months old, 16 July 1941.
