next step for naturalization record?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

next step for naturalization record?

Post by Smurphy1 »

Hello,
I have looked and am now more confused than I was. Help! :)

I have located a record of my relative's naturalization in an index from Michigan. It is an index card on a microfiche on what of the sites. It simply lists his name, date of birth, the date of the naturalization and a reference number. But not the "C-number" I keep hearing referred to. This is a number followed by "PET".

Can you please guide me on what the next step would be to obtain the actual document I need? Thank you in advance! Again the document is from Michigan, 1935

I’m not sure about this, but it may be possible that your relative naturalized in a Michigan county rather than in a federal court. If so, the numbers will be different. Why not check with the state to determine how to obtain records for Michigan naturalizations.
