from this marriage act that Tessa provided, can you make out the mother's (Rosa) last name?
and the town where Carmela was born? Is it Bari?

Sorry that I forgot to post the link. I am having trouble with posting. I posted this more than once, but it didn't show up. I guess, in the end, I forgot to repost the link.

The mother's name is Rosa Cornacchia. The town of Carmela's birth is Bari delle Puglie, which was the official full name of the town of Bari from 1863 until 1931 when it went back to just Bari.
