Re: Fraschetti family
Ciao G
In your last post here, what is exactly meant in the article, towards the end, where it says "Quindi i vocaboli Esposto, Gettatello mi risveglian tosto l'idea dell'empieta:"

@Angela
Le parole Esposto, Gettatello usate per indicare un bambino abbandonato, sembra che indichino una mancanza di venerazione e di rispetto verso ciò che è sacro

Absolutely! I totally agree. This is such a proufound statement. Thank you for explaining. I wasn't sure how to interpret it.mmogno wrote: 04 Dec 2018, 19:05 @Angela

Il Salmo 27 è uno dei miei salmi preferiti. Tempismo perfetto.
Mi piacciono le foto
Grazie.

Edit to Add: What are the words that are written in Latin above the door. I can only read some of them.

Oh yes, so it is. I couldn't see all the words properly. I knew it was Latin but I've never studied this. I had wondered why you wrote out that verse. I couldn't locate it in the pics yesterday.mmogno wrote: 05 Dec 2018, 11:02 @Angela

La scritta è il Salmo
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?s ... on=VULGATE
I was completely forgetting about the vulgate version/translation of the Bible. I do have a copy – Knox Version. I knew it included more books in it than other versions/translations but I hadn't realised that the numbering of the psalms was different?
Anyway, I think the verse that is included on the door is a comforting and wonderful promise, which I believe. (Although, sadly, with all the pervision that has been committed against vulnerable children, over time, everywhere, especially within the Catholic church, I can't help but have a question mark as to what life might have been like, behind those closed doors, for those children.)
NIV: "Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me." Psalm 27:10
(Vulgate Psalm 26:10)
Thanks for your replies, G.
