RE:RESEARCH IN CAIOZZO CASERTA PROVINCE
thanks again to everyone who helped me access the birth record of domenico pasquarello b.4 june 1866. he married caroline rootes b.1870 in birmingham england in 1905 after his first wife died. domenico's 1st marriage was to maria capella(?) in middleboro in 1892. she was possibly from caiozzo as well. she died in 1905 age 45 so i'm guessing she was born ca.1859/1860. and as immigrants normally married those from the same comune or area i'm thinking she may be from caiozzo as well. i see no indexes for those years at the www.antenati@beniculturali.it site, and other than going through each page individually,i see no shortcut here. what makes it harder is that the images are a bit hazy. not very clear. would anyone out there have an email address for the ufficio dello stato civile in caiozzo? i went to the website but see no contact info. there. this is rare as most comunes have contact info. noted. once again, any help most appreciated.

There is a ship passenger record for Maria Capella arriving 28 Jan 1879, age 20 at New York aboard the City of Montreal, putting her birth date in about 1859. She was born in Italy it departed from Liverpool, England and Queenstown, Ireland.
There is also a Maria Pasquariello arriving 17 Jun 1901, age 41 arriving at New York on the Britannia. From Caiazzo. Passage paid by her husband. Possibly a trip home from a visit to Italy.

On the detainee page, the husband mentioned on the 1901 manifest is "Carmine Varssone"bbivona wrote: 31 Dec 2018, 03:05

Re: RE:RESEARCH IN CAIOZZO CASERTA PROVINCE
could be either one. i see a death record for her. middleboro massachusetts 1905. just the standard italy given. the second one is more likely. at that time she had a small son of 5. odd that she used her married name as most italian women kept their maiden name. in her case capella or capelli or cappiello. i wish i had her parents names as i would have more info. to send in a request. i could request info. at the archivio di stato in caserta which goes up to 1865 but would like to contact the stato civile in caiozzo. as i mentioned theres no email contact given on their website. but thanks again for providing more useful research info.note: just saw the notation mentioning her husband as carmine varrsone. this wouldn't be her,but the age,the comune of caiozzo, and the last name of pasquariello make this very confusing. one more thought. a marriage year of 1892 is mentioned in her burial record at the find a grave site. but i've never found a marriage here in mass. in 1892 give or take a year. its also noted she arrived in 1890, 2 years after dominico supposedly arrived in 1888. wonder if he could have returned to caiozzo, married her there, and returned here? all this happened within 10 years,as she supposedly had a daughter in 1894,a son antonello in 1895,and a stillborn child in 1896. then she dies of diabetes in 1905. a few months later dominico marries caroline rootes, twice married and widowed or divorced herself, with 2 or 3 children. also unusual that the italian born dominico married an english woman.

thanks for your offer justin. not doing serious research here. just puttering around for a friend. i hired some researchers early on to get me started when i began 20 years ago. but that was with my own lines. long past that. mine is long done with and i just spend my spare time helping others here and there.field my queries when i'm stuck and return the favor when i can. like a trade off. more of a hobby.

There are indices with those records. They are either at the start or right at the end, and are legible. I searched a few years either side of 1860 and I didn't see any signs of the name Capello (more likely to be spelled Cappello) but I did see the name Cappola there.

Her 1905 death record gives her parents names as Dominick (Domenico) Capello and Maria (surname?): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1463156mezzogiorno62 wrote: 31 Dec 2018, 03:28 could be either one. i see a death record for her. middleboro massachusetts 1905. just the standard italy given. the second one is more likely. at that time she had a small son of 5. odd that she used her married name as most italian women kept their maiden name. in her case capella or capelli or cappiello. i wish i had her parents names as i would have more info. to send in a request. i could request info. at the archivio di stato in caserta which goes up to 1865 but would like to contact the stato civile in caiozzo. as i mentioned theres no email contact given on their website. but thanks again for providing more useful research info.note: just saw the notation mentioning her husband as carmine varrsone. this wouldn't be her,but the age,the comune of caiozzo, and the last name of pasquariello make this very confusing. one more thought. a marriage year of 1892 is mentioned in her burial record at the find a grave site. but i've never found a marriage here in mass. in 1892 give or take a year. its also noted she arrived in 1890, 2 years after dominico supposedly arrived in 1888. wonder if he could have returned to caiozzo, married her there, and returned here? all this happened within 10 years,as she supposedly had a daughter in 1894,a son antonello in 1895,and a stillborn child in 1896. then she dies of diabetes in 1905. a few months later dominico marries caroline rootes, twice married and widowed or divorced herself, with 2 or 3 children. also unusual that the italian born dominico married an english woman.

Re: RE:RESEARCH IN CAIOZZO CASERTA PROVINCE
actually i went back and checked a few years. there are indexes for a few years. found nothing in 1859 and 1860,the primary years.i tried all variarions. that surname could be spelled many ways. it was probably spelled differently by whoever heard it and was putting it on record. then i expanded out a few years either way. back to 1857 and forward to 1862. i forget, but most had no indexes. i'll try again. the years noted with indexes were all much earler. before 1850.
