BirthAct Translation

Post by zolkie »

Good evening! I'm new to the forum, but have been researching my Italian line for several years.
One of my direct ancestors was an orphan at the (apparently well known)Annunziata orphanage in Naples.
I was able to identify the Processati paperwork associated with her wedding and to my surprise, found an Birth Act for her. The document has been filled out, but as you'll see, not in the standard manner. I'm very curious to see what information it might contain, so if you're up for the challenge of deciphering handwriting and translating the Italian, take a look (and many thanks in advance!)

Dated 10 April 1833, at 10 PM, before the official in Nola

Appeared Rosa Lionata of Nola, age 54, Received of the Abandoned, residing in Strada San Raffaele. who declared that at 4 PM of this day, was left at the wheel (of the abandoned) a female child in a few white rags, and observed to be without anything else on her body, and who seemed to be born this day. The child was (by the official) given the name Maria Pasquale. The official, in accordance with the law, entered the birth into two registers.

The child was baptized at the Church in Nola on 17 April.
