Help translating birth record

Post by mkaykrista »

Hello, I was hoping to have some help in translating my great-great grandfather's birth record. I am specifically looking for if the record mentions what house he was born at in Sant'Arsenio. I am going to Italy later this year and am debating a drive to Sant'Arsenio, but would like to know where my gg grandfather lived, or if his house is even still there.

^^This is the link to the document in my Ancestry family tree. No matter how small I make the document image, it won't let me attach to this thread.

For anyone wanting to do a manual search:
Giuseppe Gargano
born 1872 Sant'Arsenio
died 1949 in New York(?)
parents Rosa Reciniello and Francesco Gargano

Thank you!

The record states that the father, Francesco Gargano, resided in Via Parco in the town. There is no number given.

The child was born at home.

There are 16 listings for Gargano in the towns in the area of Sant'Arsenio, the closest being in Sala Consilina.
Perhaps you could write and inquire of these "potential" relatives?

Thank you! I see that Via Parco is a street in Sant'Arsenio. Wish there was a number or something more concrete to know if the house is still there.

Would it be possible for one of his siblings to have a house # in their birth record?
