Greetings everyone,
I am looking for some help translating the Marengo birth record (#40). Any help would be tremendously appreciated.
Help with handwritten birth record
Re: Help with handwritten birth record
Welcome!
#40
Dated 6 February 1866 in Alba
Before the official appeared Margarita Maria Tomatis, 64, midwife residing in this city, to declare that on day 4 of the current month of February at 1 AM, was born a male child, to Teresa Ornato [daughter of Giovanni], age 27, wife of Luigi Marengo, shoemaker, 36, both residing in casa Fontina Via Mandelli. The child was given the name GIUSEPPE.
The midwife did not present the infant because it was ill, but she and the father attested to its birth.

Re: Help with handwritten birth record
Please, if you don't mind, one last thing on this record. I'm stuck on part of the recorded name...Marengo (Carlo)??? Giuseppe di Luigi
Re: Help with handwritten birth record
My apologizes - I left out part of the child's given name. It is clearly written in the body of the record.Tessa78 wrote: 12 Feb 2019, 17:05 Welcome!
