Johnny, the family in the 1930 census is the one I was looking for. Thank you so much!
In reading through this I do remember Rita. She is buried in the US. You jogged an old memory from when I was real young. We were at a cemetery in Pennsylvania and I saw a tombstone with Rita on it and said something because of the living Rita. Someone told me that the next girl was also named Rita.
From the bits and pieces of info that I picked up during my childhood, no one seemed to know what happened to Nancy’s husband. Depending upon who answered, It was said that he “took off”, he moved to Baltimore, and he died. It was a subject that no one wanted to talk about.
Suanj, the name Longhitano sounds like it is right on.
Wish I had started doing this when my parents and other relatives were still alive.

I am still thinking about Nicola; perhaps something will turn up.

Keep in mind that the 1942 draft card (in my earlier post) has Nicola still living in Philadelphia, but does not mention Nancy or another family member as "Name and address of person who will always know your address". For a man who was married, you would nearly always see his wife's name here.

This would seem to indicate that Nicola never left the Philly area.

Quite possibly, Nicola's home after arriving in the US and before marrying Nunzia/Nancy.

I'm thinking that Nicola left Nancy. Back in those days, you did not get a divorce, so he may have just left. They may or may not have known he was still in Philadelphia. Possibly he might have told them he was going to Baltimore and never returned. Either way, it was a sore subject. If he left, that would explain why no one wanted to talk about it.
I do remember Uncle Joe. I'm not sure if he was a real uncle. I have pictures of him in his Army uniform standing next to me. I knew that he died in the war.

I was able to determine that Nancy died in 1944. So, she did die after the 1942 draft registration. It was handled by Pennsylvania Burial on Broad St in Philadelphia, PA.
Has anyone had any experience obtaining information from funeral homes?
I'm planning to contact them to see if it's possible to get a copy of whatever they may have... maybe a death certificate. I would think that they would at the least have her name, address, birth & death date, next of kin, where she is buried and cause of death. She was most likely buried in a Catholic cemetery in the Philadelphia area.
I got copies of my parents death certificates from the municipalities because I had viable identification and knew where they died. Unfortunately they didn't have as much info as I would have liked. But anything I can find on some of my other deceased relatives would be helpful.

Mary M - I realize I am replying 8 years after the original post, but I saw your posts. I am the great-grandson of Alfio Saccullo (brother of Nunzia Saccullo/Longhitano). Marie Saccullo (daughter of Alfio, born 1926) would be the closest living relative to Nunziata Saccullo/Longhitano
