Please help with the translation of my great grandfather's baptismal certificate

Post by jrbak »

Good afternoon,
I would appreciate any help provided in the translation of Luigi Negri's (my great grandfather) birth and baptismal certificate. I am also on a quest to find out further information on my second great grandparents etc.
Thank you,
Jefferie (jrbak)

October 28, 1855 at town hall in Piverone in the parish of San Lorenzo, Comune of Piverone, a male child was presented to the church, born the 26th of October, son of Giovanni Negri, farmer, domiciled in Piverone, and of Domenica Boccca, seamstress, domiciled in Piverone, wife of Negri, to whom was administered the rite of baptism in the aforementioned parish, and who was given the name of Luigi. The godfather was Francesco Bocca, farmer, domiciled in Santhia and godmother was Luigia Baratto, seamstress, domiciled in Piverone. Baptism was performed by Father di N___?

Dear bbviona and Tessa78,
I appreciate you both translating Luigi's birth/baptismal certificate for me. It always gives me new information on my family of which I am grateful.
Hope you both have a most pleasant day!
