Hello, I keep running into issues when trying to translate the last handwritten line that is pretty uniform across birth records.
Can someone please provide a translation with the meaning of each Italian word here and what it means in English? Rather than a straight translation, I would like to know the meaning of each portion so I could learn myself. I believe it's something along the lines of "The act was presented to the X, to the declarant, and to the informants, the testimony XYZ." Thanks!

Letto il presente atto agli intervenuti, The present act, read to the partecipants,
si è dal dichiarante e da me firmato, was signed by the declarant and by me,
avendo asserito i testimoni non saper scrivere. having the witnesses asserted not be able to write.

Would you also be able to help with deciphering the profession of the second witness, Antonio Vintoluzo? Thanks.

Re: Help with handwritten portion of birth record
I'll give this a go, since no one else has. I saw this earlier and I knew that it had something to do with stones (pietre). I've just had another look and I think that the first letter should actually be an "s" but it looks like an "o" which would make the first two syllables "spacca" which to me sounds like split or break. So I think that the word is possibly "spaccapietre" which would be a stonebreaker or stonecutter??? It's possibly dialect.mnaccarato wrote: 08 Nov 2019, 23:16 Would you also be able to help with deciphering the profession of the second witness, Antonio Vintaloro Thanks.
