Birth translation of Francesco Borrelli

Post by harleynut97 »

Well I found an ancestor birth record at the family history center today, but unfortunately It wouldnt let me download the record so I did some closeup screenshots of the record.

Any translation help would be appreciated

-Date of birth for Francesco
-Parents names and ages
-There is quite a bit handwritten at the bottom, really curious about what that says
-on the right side in the margin there is a stamp with a date, not sure what that says or means.

The first image shows the date of the record - 29 April 1885.

Second image indicates that the child was born on 28 April 1885, and presented by Gaetana Di Simone, the 74yo midwife.
Father is deceased Francesco Borelli, laborer.
Mother is Rosina Saporito, spinner, his wife.

Third image states that the child was presented by the declarant (Di Simone) as she helped in the birth, and in place of the deceased father and because the mother was physically impeded.

The margin note has nothing to do with the record. It is the verification by the official that he has seen the records to that point in the book.

Thank you Tessa. I feel bad for Francesco (the father) that he didn't live to see the birth of his child. I will have to seek out a death record for him in 1885 or 1884.

Did it say how old the mother was, or the father?
