Birth Record Translation

Post by Uxoiraq »

Please translate this for me. I think it says Marco Cocchiola and Maria Teresa Capobianco had baby Angelo Michele on Feb 10, 1843. Is that correct and is there any other names/dates/ages in there somewhere? It's the left side of the page.

Thanks!!

Jim Cocchiola

Birth No 20: Michele Cocchiola

Frigento: 10 February 1843

Appearing before the official was Marco Cocchiola, 35 yo, son of deceased Giuseppe, colono (tenant farmer), living in Frigento, Strada San Rocco, who presented a male, who he reported was born from himself, the declarant, and from Maria Teresa Capobianco, his legitimate wife, 26 yo, contadina, living with him in Strada San Rocco. The baby was born 9 February 1843 in the house they lived and was given the name Michele.

Witnesses to the birth and presentation:

Don Gennaro Flammia, 46 yo, proprietario (landowner) living in Frigento, Strada San Marciano and Don Grieco Testa, 27 yo, proprietario, living Frigento, Strada Chiesa.

Michele Cocchiola was baptised in the parish of Santa Maria Maggiore on 10 February 1843.

This is exactly the same record. It has just been duplicated when it was filmed.

BTW: We have done a lot of translations in the past for the town of Frigento, particularly the later records. It mght worth searching this site for previous translations pertaining to the names you are researching. Both the names Cocchiola and Capobianco came up regularly and there may be other names also that you are researching.
