Fortunata Mazzu, age 20, Born in Montalbano di Elicona; resident in ?
Father: Placido resident in Montalbano di Elicona; braciante(laborer)

I have also found that there exist Matramoni Allegati records but I can not locate the year 1888. Can you point out how I can find the records. I don't believe there is an index. If there are records, will there be any information of use. I believe there may be birth records or death records of their parents.

Thank you

It looks like the Allegati docs are missing 1888. Although there is no index for Allegati records, they are usually grouped in order by the marriage act #. In the case of Fortunato and Fortunata, their marriage act # for 1888 is 2 so the Allegati for the marriage should be very near the beginning of the 1888 Allegat docs. There also is usually a header sheet at the beginnng or end of each group of documents that belong to that marriage act.

The Allegati will contain a lot of useful genealogical info. Birth info on groom and bride, death info on their fathers if deceased, death info on their grandfathers if both father and grandfather deceased, and at times death info about mothers if deceased.
