death of Catarina Migliarese

Post by carolc »

Can someone please translate this death doc? I'm very interested in learning about her parents if you can please include any info it has about them, as well as the usual about the deceased- age, marital status, domicile.

Thank you

Recorded on 9 Feb 1811 at 3 pm

Declarants:
Domenico Migliarese, 65 years old, hairdresser
Antonio _irardi, 50 years old, peasant,

Deceased:
Catarina Migliarese, 15 years old, born in the city of Catanzaro, daughter of Domenico Migliarese, hairdresser, and Mariantonia Manfredi, of this same city. She was unmarried and living in the Parish of Santa Maria de Figulis.

Perhaps someone else can parse the second witnesses’ last name? Girardi?

I'm reading the second declarant's surname as Virardi...found in Catanzaro.

Wow, Domenico was 50 when he had her. It doesn't say how old the mother is? This is great info though. He's my 5x great grandfather. Now that I know he was alive in 1811 I can search for his death record. Thank you

Unfortunately, it does not give her age but it does say she's alive. As you surmised with Domenico, there should be a death certificate waiting to be found (post-1811) for her as well.
