Translation of 2 marriage publications
Re: Translation of 2 marriage publications
I thought I recognized the word "wife" in there, but I thought maybe it was a stretching of the truth. I never found any marriage record for them. I did find a marriage record for Salvatore and a different woman in 1884. And incidently, Salvatore fathered other children where the names of the mothers were not listed. I assumed they were not children of Giuseppa because she was openly listed as the mother of her three. And also because 2 of Salvatore's children were born the same year - probably not of the same mother. (One was Giuseppa's daughter) He had about 9 kids with at least different women. I don't think he ever married Giuseppa.

FYI...
Here is the marriage noted on Vincenzo Bentivenga's birth act.
He married with Calogera Fede on 13 February 1904.

Yes, I have Vincenzo’s marriage record. Once his wife came to America, she called herself Lillian. They had 5 children, 3 boys in Naro, and 2 girls in CT. Here’s another odd fact. When Calogera Fede went to the US, she brought only the oldest boy. They never went back for the other 2.

In this marriage transcription from 1882, Salvatore Bentivenga marries with Carmela Di Prima, and they declare their two children: Gaetana (born February 1879) and Antonia (born October 1881.)

Could the other sons of Vincenzo and Calogero have died before the couple immigrated?

Re: Translation of 2 marriage publications
The link attached was for the marriage of Vincenzo Bentivenga (Salvatore's brother)
I have Salvatore B marrying Carmela Miceli in 1884.
I looked for a death record for the other 2 boys and couldn't find one. There were not too many years to search. One was born in 1908, the other in 1910. Calogera Fede immigrated with the oldest boy (born in 1906) in 1912. Vincenzo was already in CT. He had gone back and forth a few times. I checked the death records up to 1912, where they stop on Family Search, and there is a gap until 1919? It's possible one of them died during those years where I can't access the death records. However, when one of the other children died many years later, her obituary stated that she left a brother, Joseph, in Naro. The obituary wouldn't have mentioned him if he was already dead. So that made me think that his parents never went back for him.

Re: Translation of 2 marriage publications
My apologies. Yes, that is the marriage of Vincenzo to Carmela Di Prima.
I should have realized when I happened upon the death of Salvatore and it mentioned his wife's surname as Miceli.

Just an FYI
In the birth record for Giuseppe Bentivenga in 1908, presentation was made by the midwife in place of the Father as he was found to be abroad. (Trovasi all'estero)
Sounds like Vincenzo may have made several trips to USA.

Re: Translation of 2 marriage publications
I think I found 3 trips to NY for Vincenzo going back to 1904. (Maybe because immigrants were trying to establish whether they could make a living here before sending for the rest of their family?)
His sister Gaetana also immigrated. She called herself Ida in the US. She also married a Miceli, like her father Salvatore. But I couldn’t find a marriage record for her.
