The birth act is dated 1 August 1887 _ birth on 31 July
Declaration of the birth was made by Cosima Russo, 63, spinner. She declared that on 31st of last month (July), in the house in Vico S. Ignazio #13 to Chiara Mercurio, age 31, housewife, spouse of Mariano Capone, age 40, fisherman, both residing in the town, was born a female child who she presented to the official and to whom was given the name Maria Carmela.
Russo made the declaration in place of the Father because she assisted with the birth and the husband of Mercurio was absent.
