Finding an experienced immigration lawyer and cost

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Finding an experienced immigration lawyer and cost

Post by BZLAM »

Greetings!

I'm looking into filing for Italian dual citizenship via maternal descent or a ‘1948’ case and have already assembled all of the necessary papers (grandmother's birth, naturalization in 1954....) For these cases, a lawsuit is filed at the Court of Rome, instead of through the consulate ( that is only for paternal descent). So I’m seeking an attorney that specializes in Italian citizenship law. Online agencies that do this are really expensive, 6 - 8,500 thousand! I wonder if it might be possible to find a lawyer in Rome who would be more reasonably priced.

It seems a rather simple process:
'thousands of people have gained Italian dual citizenship via maternal descent. In fact, Italy no longer even defends itself in the 1948 case Italian citizenship applications. Since 2009 (the first-ever 1948 case was brought to court in that year), they have become rather routine.’

Would you happen to know of anyone who might be able to take this on or has had success? Also, would you happen to know the price range for an attorney?

Thanks so much!

Hello,
I don't know if you have already found an attorney.
However, my wife is, and she might be of help.
I send you her email address for possible contact by PM.

Hello bzlam, I can share with your my experience when I applied for a 1948 case too last year.
I got a great italian citizenship assistance by Bersani Law Firm , they charged me good fees for the entire process at that time. I send You the contacts through private msg.

Cheers,

If you have a viable male line, the courts will not take your case.

Thanks but I still need help in obtaining docs from Italy. That is why I think I might need an attorney there to assist.

There are several genealogists on this site who can obtain Italian records for you. You likely do not need a lawyer. Try contacting suanj.
