Hi..
I have questions about the following, right side, n.24:
http://dl.antenati.san.beniculturali.it ... ewsIndex=0
1. The certificate is issued 18 Gennaio 1834, but it seems that the person died in the sulfur mine in ventiquattro. Che vuol dire?
2. Why so many empty spaces? No ci sono testimoni.
3. What is it saying about "si e' morto di morreresenna"? Di che e' morto?
4. ..nella Zolfara, dello burgio "Ferrrirdrio" di Grotte?
4. La sposa / vedova, Appollonia, e' domiciliata "ai termini di un...??"
Che vita miserabile aveva il Maestro Angelo Costanza!
Molto grazie,
Matt
Questions Regarding Death in a Sulfur Mine
Re: Questions Regarding Death in a Sulfur Mine
1) What I understand is that "Master" Angelo Costanza died in the sulphur mine, and was found "today"
2) No, no declarants, as the record was written on the basis of a report by the "Giudice del Circondario" (The Judge of that Area)
3) "di morte repentina" = "died suddenly"
4) Nella Zolfara dello Burgio, territorio di Grotte
5) Appollonia Schembri was his mother, living "there" (i.e., in Licata); "ai termini di un officio" is referred to the report on point 2)
What seems weird, is that he was found exactly ten years later, on Jan 18th. My guess is that there's an error, and they meant "1834"; in fact, in the index, the year is not specified.

The record also mentions that he was the husband of Angela Falsone.
