Andrea Roccamatisi, son of deceased Giovanni Nicola (written as Joan Cola) and Carolina/Caterina Roccamatisi marries Geronima, daughter of deceased Nicolao and living Antonina La Camara, of Monreale.
Are Nicolao and Antonina here the same people as the parents of Geronima?

Re: La Camara deaths
Yes, Nicolao is referred to the same saint(s) as Nicola and Niccolò.Edward Keeports wrote: 01 May 2021, 08:25 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=2046915

This one was the son of the deceased "Maestro" Antonino ("Maestro" is an artisan, like a mason, or a carpenter) and Ligutina (never heard this name before).
Notice that there's an abbreviation mark over an "a" in "Camara", so, that's not the exact spelling.

Antonina la CaMMara, was the daughter of deceased Angelo di Beddia. I don't see her mother's name, nor place of origin.

Re: La Camara deaths
Thank you Pippo! I wonder if Ligutina is some sort of mistake? Maybe the name has something to do with Liguria and is actually supposed to be writted "Ligurina"?PippoM wrote: 03 May 2021, 15:50 Yes, Nicolao is referred to the same saint(s) as Nicola and Niccolò.

I think her place of origin is Carini. Nicolao la Camara marries Antonina di Bellia in Carini in 1581, and -dd- is a common Sicilian variant of -ll-.PippoM wrote: 03 May 2021, 15:50 Date is "a dì detto" ("on the same day (as previous record)"), i.e. Sep 11th, 1631

I don't think it's la Cammara, I think it's la Cámara, with an accent mark, because that's a Spanish surname. I think this family is originally Spanish, since Spain ruled Sicily at the time. I'm trying to find more on Antonino, see if maybe his parents were from Spain.
