Ciao a tutti!
My query is about the Macerata archives of the Stato Civile Italiano (after 1866); Does anyone know when they will be digitized on the Antenati website? In Macerata I can only see the "Stato Civile Napoleonico".
My other Italian branch came from Lombardia and in Antenati I can see de Stato Civile and other archivies but not from the post-Napoleonic period until the Re-Unification 1814-1866, the "Austrian Period".
Does anyone know were I can find the archives of Macerata "Stato Civile" and the Austrian-Empire (Regno Lombardo-Veneto) period in Lombardy?
Thank you

Records of Macerata:

As far as I know, records for years 1816-1866 do not exit for Lombardy. Only church records are available, but very few online.

From 1815 up to 1859 Lombardy, together with the Venetian region, we're consolidated by the Congress of Vienna into the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia, as a Crown Land of the Austrian Empire, and it was de facto ruled by the Hapsburg dynasty from Vienna.

Lombardy was annexed by the Kingdom of Sardinia in 1859 following the Second Italian War of Independence, while the Venetian region joined the Kingdom of Italy in 1866 following the defeat of Austria in the Austro-Prussian war.
Under the Austrian rule the task of registering births, deaths and marriages was conferred to parish priests, who were also treated as public officers by the Imperial-Royal government, while city administrations were compelled to keep a Registry of resident families.
Therefore civil status records for the Lombardy and Venetian regions between 1815 and 1866 are not to be found in the Antenati website, but rather in local regional archives and in the historical archives of the dioceses.

After the fall of Austria in the Austro-Prussian War in 1866, the Venetian territory formally merged with the Kingdom of Italy, while Lombardy was acquired by the Kingdom of Sardinia in 1859.
The Imperial-Royal government of Austria made parish priests responsible for registering births, funerals, and weddings, geometry dash and the city governments were required to maintain a Registry of resident families.
