Quick question (death record transcription)

Hello everyone!

I finally encountered a death record that was very easy to transcribe! I transcribed the entire record myself except for literally just one word that is giving me trouble!

Please see the attached death record for my 3rd-Great-Grandfather, Giacomo Di Gennaro (on the right side).

The very last line of the record reads, "Abbiamo indi formato il presente atto, che abbiamo inscritto sopra i due registri, e datane lettura ai dichiaranti, si è nel giorno, mese ed anno come sopra segnato da Noi e da," and then there are a few words after "Noi e da." Does anyone know what those words are?

The only other question - it looks like it was signed by "il Cancelliere" in the bottom-right hand corner. Does anyone know who il Cancelliere is and what is name is? (I didn't see him mentioned at all in the actual record itself?).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The final words have something to do with "from/of the testimony", perhaps the above testimony or testimony of both?

il Cancelliere translates as Chancellor, the secretary for a big shot.

It means, "...as indicated above by us and by both witnesses."

Il cancelliere is the local court clerk. It says sindaco (mayor,) followed by his signature, then il cancelliere (clerk) followed by his signature.

Haha you were very much on the right track! (Much more so than me!). And yes, thank you, I agree! It is very rewarding to transcribe and translate these documents! There are some words I just cannot for the life of me make out - everyone on this board has been a tremendous help!!

Yes, in the smaller towns that was generally the case. In towns that were a little bigger the mayor sometimes delegated the responsibility.

Yes, in the smaller towns that was generally the case. In towns that were a little bigger the mayor sometimes delegated the responsibility.
