Processetti for the marriage of Anna Marie Donadio

Post by khoney »

The Matrimoni, processetti for the marriage of Anna Marie Donadio, daughter of Nicola, son of Gerardo has me confused. I hope someone can explain where I went wrong.

The document following Anna Marie’s birth is the death of her father Nicola Donadio who died 29 Feb 1824 in Chiaromonte at the age of 48 (1776), son of deceased Gerardo and deceased Candida Maturo

also found at

The next document is the death of Anna Marie’s grandfather Gerardo Donadio, age 45 on 21 Mar 1733.

If Gerardo died in 1733 he could not be Nicola’s father. What am I missing?

Thank you,
Karen

If Nicola died aged 48 in 1776 he was born in 1728 when Gerardo was sill alive. So why Gerardo cannot be Nicola's father?

Thank you liviomoreno for the quick reply.

Nicola Donadio died 29 Feb 1824 in Chiaromonte at the age of 48 so was born about 1776. It is easier to read at

Karen, there is an error in the death extract pertaining to Nicola Donadio. If you take a look at the original record, there is absolutely no mention of his age being 48. There is no age given. I think the scribe maybe copied the declarant, Giuseppe Cosentino’s age, by mistake. Also, there is an error in the date of declaration, and maybe other errors as well.

Re the death extract for the paternal grandfather, Gerardo Donadio, which does give his age as circa 45, we don’t know for sure that this is the correct death extract. It doesn’t give his wife’s name. I’ve done a lot of research in Potenza province and there are often errors in the allegati supplied. It would be interesting to find marriage allegati for syblings of the bride to see if an extract of the same death record is produced.

Hope all is well, Karen.

Angela,

Thank you for your help. I will keep looking and with luck find another sibling marriage with more plausible death record.
