Transcription for a Baptism/Birth Record!

Post by CaptainCatholic »

Hi everyone! Is there any chance someone might be able to provide me with a transcription of the record attached below?

I think I should be able to translate it into English, but I am having a lot of trouble transcribing the original Latin/Italian writing!

This is the birth/baptism record of Giacomo Di Gennaro, born in Troia, Puglia in 1714. (This is a "rewritten copy" of the original record, included in his marriage processetto).

Thank you so much for any help you can provide!! :-) I hope everyone is doing well!

Wow!!!! This is fantastic, thank you so much as always mmogno! You did a flawless job on this transcription! (I don't know how you can read all that!).

I am translating it now! I think I am in good shape, except I just wanted to check on 3 things if anyone is able to confirm for me:

1) Giacomo was born on 28 November 1714, correct?

2) And he was baptized on 30 November 1714, correct?

3) I think it states he was born "at 18 hours." I'm assuming this would be Italian time (Ora Italica), correct? If so, would he have been born at about 11:00am? (Here's my reasoning for this - the sun will set at 4:29pm in Troia on 27 November 2021... since Giacomo was born at 18 hours, that means he was born 18.5 hours after this sunset... 18.5 hours after 4:29pm would be 10:59am the next day... or approximately 11:00am!)

Thank you so much mmogno!!! And thanks to anyone who might be able to confirm my questions!
