Translation Help for Marriage Record, Please

Post by OrangeBlossom44 »

I have already completed a basic translation, but I am interested in a translation of the two paragraphs preceding the preprinted paragraph dealing with publication of the banns. Those two paragraphs appear to contain detailed information about the parents of the bride and groom. I believe the first paragraph says that Tomaso died 8 Sep 1811 in Bojano, Campobasso, Molise. Does it give his age or any additional information about him and his wife Anastasia di Meo? Also, does paragraph two give similar details for the bride’s parents Antonino LaPorta and Catterina Mongillo? Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. This is the very first time that I’ve found one of my father’s ancestors who was born, lived, or died outside of Faiichio.

Groom = Benedetto Biondi (my 3GG father)
Bride = Angela Maria LaPorta (my 3GG mother)

Groom’s parents = Tomaso Biondi and Anastasia di Meo (my 4GG parents)
Bride’s parents = Antonino LaPorta and Catterina Mongillo (my 4GG parents)

Antenati has changed since I last used it, so the link only takes you part of the way to the record. Once you click on the link, please go to Record 7 in the last year of data (1812).

Thank you, again.

Anastasia di Meo died on April 29, 1802. It's not clear if she died in the same town as Tommaso. The other dates there are the dates their death records were presented to the officials in the town where the marriage was taking place.

No age for either parent is given.

Thank you very much.

One question: Were the bride’s parents (Antonino LaPorta and Catterina Mongillo) still alive at the time of the wedding?

Appreciate your help.

Yes, the bride's parents were alive and gave their consent. The mother was living with the father. The bride's father's age is given as 60, but the mother's age is throwing me for a loop. The record has her at age 80-not impossible, although the bride was only 25.

Yes, I saw 80 too! Seemed a bit unusual…that and a much younger husband. Thank you so much for your help.

One final question….
What comune are the bride’s parents (Antonino LaPorta and Catterina Mongillo) from?
I am unable to read it. Thank you very much!

The bride was living in this town on strada Massari, and her parents were living in this town as well( specific location not given), but the mother was living with the father. Places of birth are not given for any of them.
