Suanj can you give me any more information on the family name. What might it be a mistaken version of? My aunts claimed that the family originally came from France. Is that probable?

My Uncle did a family tree back in the 1980's and he traced the Siani family (3 Brothers- Pasquale, Domenico, Jiacinto) to Bordeau, Bourgogne, France in 1782. It is not known if they were born there. Pasquale, my direct relative was apparently killed by bandits in Contursi in 1799.
