Photo ID. Golden Anniversary.
Trying to ID subjects . Photo was owned by centenarian female cousin (passed 4 years ago) who grew up in Providence, worked in NJ, retired in Florida. Could photo be of immigrants -- solemn expressions ,painted backdrop, plant don't seem like 50's in USA ?
Research so far unsuccessful.
Thank you.

Re: Photo ID. Golden Anniversary.
I found a Scime family living in East Orange, Jew Jersey in the late 1940s. Salvatore Scime was born about 1910, and his wife Marie was born about 1915. A newspaper article said they were "of Italian extraction," and had three children: Roger, Regina and Gregory. Roger was a young pianist.

Thank you so much . Both are musicians, but Greg was born 1945 or so and wouldn't fit time frame.

Re: Photo ID. Golden Anniversary.
Since the writing is in English, I'd assume the photo was taken in the U.S.

Re: Photo ID. Golden Anniversary.
Clarification - this anniversary card was likely produced in the U.S. because of the writing in English, but the original wedding photo could have been taken anywhere. It only means that they likely lived in the U.S. in 1957.

Re: Photo ID. Golden Anniversary.
Just an observation: The stone/tile floor definitely looks more like Italy than the US. Clothing/hairstyles could easily be 1907. My guess is the photo is the original wedding portrait from 1907 made into Golden Anniversary cards in 1957.

Re: Photo ID. Golden Anniversary.
My opinion is it's a card from 1957, celebrating the golden (50th) anniversary of the couple married in 1907. Not saying that's it, but that's what I think...

Re: Photo ID. Golden Anniversary.
I'd say it's a wedding photo taken in Italy or in the U.S. in 1907, and made into a wedding anniversary card in the U.S. in 1957.
The comment about the stone/tile floor suggests the photo was more likely taken in Italy but that's inconclusive as noted.

Re: Photo ID. Golden Anniversary.
I appreciate the help, thank you.
Owner of photo was born in Providence c.1918, second generation Casertana-Americana. She spent her life as a retail proprietor in NJ, including seasonal residence in Florida.
Cousins found photo, were looking at it , guessed the dates are 1907/1957 , and wanted to know if subjects were related to us.
I don't see the suit or lighting as USA 1907. But maybe the format and print style of paper mat frame is more 1950's than 2007 ? Not much info to go on.
Photo surname is of primarily Sicilian origin. Owner's husband was Sicilian-American.
Consensus seems to be 1907/1957.
