Post by Belsitoj »

Hello. I believe this is the birth certificate for my great grandfather Pietro Antonio Belsito. I would really appreciate it if someone could interpret the document for me. Thank you so much!!

Extract of the original birth act of Pietrantonio Belsito from the register of 1844
#3(?)
Dated 18 January 1844 in town of Donnici, District of Cosenza
Appeared before the official Vincenzo Belsito, age 40, laborer residing in Donnici, contrada Conicella(?), to present a male child who was born the day before to Maria Quintieri, his legitimate wife, age 32, farmer, residing in Donnici with her husband.
The child was given the name Pietrantonio Giuseppe.
He was baptized the same day (18th) at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Cielo

Thank you so much Tessa!!!! This was very helpful. I had his name spelled as Pietro Antonio, not Pietrantonio (Without the middle name Giuseppe). I appreciate your help!!!!
