1913 birth record from comune

Post by KTGbgr »

This one may be a challenge. A letter from my Grandfather's comune with his birth information in order to get married in the U.S.

It's sort of long, so advanced thanks for whoever can decipher it.

I got as far as understanding the birth date. Would have been easier if they had used numbers instead of spelling them out!

Extract from the Register of Birth Acts, 1886, Town of Lustra

Birth Record No 18: Angelo Raffaele Tenca

Birth Registered in Lustra on 15 November 1886

Appearing before the official was Carmine Tenca, 26 yo, Braciante (day labourer), living in Lustra, who reported that at 2.22 pm, on 14 November 1886, in the house situated in Roma al numero, from Concetta Paciello, his wife, a contadina (peasant/farmer), living with him, was born a baby boy who he presented to the official and gave him the name of Angelo Raffaele.

Then it just the lists the names of the men who witnessed the registration and presentation of the baby, usually not related in any way.

They were Bernardo Esposito, 43 yo, calzolaio (cobbler/shoemaker) and Carmine Iannuzzi, 40 yo, braciante, both residing in the town.

As you say the above birth extract was provided in 1913 for marriage purposes.
