Record of Recognition

Post by delfgill »

Hi Everyone,

Can someone please assist in translating page 50, No. 3 Record of Recognition:

https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/co ... bel=Return

I don’t need a word by word of the document but would greatly appreciate a detailed summary.

Thank you.

Married couple Giuseppe Laraja [son of deceased Domenicantonio], age 64; and Isabella Fiorile [daughter of deceased Vincenzo] age 52, both farmers born and residing in this town declare that with their marriage they wish to recognize from their natural union the following children:
1 - Nunzia Fiorile - 20 January 1872 (#14)
2 - Domenicantonio Fiorile - 27 May 1876 (#61)
3 - Giuseppe Petroso - 2 January 1884 (#2) - nursed by Mariarosa Messina, wife of Lorenzo Casella
4 - Francesco Arturo Santacroce - 14 December 1889 (#17, Prte II) - nursed by Lucrezia Prinzi [daughter of Vito]
5 - Paolo Violante - 4 May 1892 (#8 - Parte II) - nursed by Maria Francesca Miraglia [daughter of decesed Paolo]
6 - Gerardo Caricioso - 14 October 1893 (#23 - Parte II) - nursed by Rufina Maria Nigro [daughter of deceased Giuseppe]
7 - Giulietta Argentini - 29 January 1875 (#2- Parte II in the town of Marsicanuovo) - nursed by Carolina Pisano of that town. This last having been recognized by her mother, Isabella Fiorile, on 1 Febrary 1900, her name was changed to Giulietta Fiorile.
The couple acknowledges that these are their natural and legitimate children, and as such their surnames will change to Laraja.
