Seeking Help Translating a Birth Record

Post by demari18 »

Greetings, I am looking for help translating the birth record for Antonio Liberatore born June 13,1886 in Cagnano Amiterno, L'Aquila, Abruzzo. I believe he came from the village of Torre.

Hoping to learn his parents' names and any other important information in the record. Thank you so much. DeMari

I found this record in Family Search.

The child was presented to the official by Angelantonia Gentile, 66yo midwife.
Birth was on 14 JUne 1886 at 3:20 AM in the house in Villa Torre
Father: Marco Liberatore, laborer residing in Cagnano Amiterno
Mother: Carmina Ruggeri, spinner, his wife.
Child given the name Antonio.
The midwife made the presentation at the town office in place of the husband of Gentile because she assisted with the birth and because the husband was far from the town.

Thank you so much Tessa. Loved the added part about the father being far away at the time of the birth. Always marvel at the strength of our ancestor women! DeMari
