Church Marriage Record Tranlation Help

Can someone assist in the translation of this marriage record from the Mother Church in Bivona, Agrigento, Sicily?

The record is on page 108 of the matrimoni registri vol. 10 1732 - 1750. I am not sure how to create a link to this since you need to have a login name and password,

PippoM thank you for the reply to my translation. I realize how difficult it is to decipher the handwriting.

I cannot see where in the document you picked out the name Russo as the maiden name of Rosa. Seems to me the maiden names of the mothers is not identified in this document. Is this typical of church records to not list the maiden names?

I think he gets Russo from the first word in the 9th line from the top, counting the title. The s looks like an f.

What I read is "Master Antonio and Rosa Sciabbica and Russo daughter of deceased…"

Russo is Rosa's birth surname, or what we in the U.S. call a maiden name. Priests and their assistants were free to write their records anyway they chose. There was no standard as to what specific info they had to include, when the Council of Trent in the mid 1500s dictated that local parish priests had to start keeping records for vital events in their parishes.

"Magistri Antonini, et Rosa Sciabbica, et Russo". This is a very common way of specifying the surnames of spouses, used in Sicily.

Is Pippo a nickname for Giuseppe? If so, which dialect?

In my case, if that's what you mean, it's a nick for Giuseppe.
This is common in Sicily, though my family is not Sicilian.
When I was a little baby, they called me "Peppino", like my GF; my mother says that, when I was more or less 2, I started saying "my name is Pippo", and everybody started calling me that way.
In Rome, where I live, Pippo usually stands for Filippo.
