Aitelli Birth Record

Post by mosca5 »

Looking for the birth record of a relative Pietro Aitelli born 1881 in Rocca Canavese near Torino in Piemonte.
Parents were Giovanni and Palmina.
Thank You.

I looked through the birth indices for the years 1877 to 1885 for the town, and the surname is not even there. You can find the records on familysearch.org. Just search the town name in the catalog there.

Can you please post the document where Aitelli is written? At least currently the surname does not exist. Maybe Autelli?

@mmogno
I found one person in current Italian white pages with the surname-in Ancona. The surname seems to have been brought to Italy from Corsica. I see a lot of entries in the U.S.

I noticed by searching on this forum that someone was researching an individual with the same name back in 2009. I can't link the thread right now, as I'm not on my computer, but a town called Rocca d'Arazzo in Asti was suggested. There are birth records on family search for 1881 for that town. Maybe you can try searching those.

I don't see the surname in Rocca d'Arazzo either. Here's the thread from 2009 which may or may not be related to your Pietro:

In my books on both civil birth and church baptism records, there was no one by this name (or a similar name) born in Rocca Canavese in 1881.
