DeLillo / DiLillo / DiLillio

Post by DMD-Boston »

I am searching for my paternal grandparents. Both were from Abruzzo. Names: Bonifacio DiLillo (or possibly DiLillio), born 1897 or 1899 and Pasqualina Ciarelli (or Cicarelli). One or both of them were from Corfinio, in L'Aquila.

Thanks for any help.

For starters...is this your Bonifacio?

Is it possible that both Pasqualina and Bonifacio died same month and year??

Maria and VJ;

You were so fast and accurate! I am so sorry that I took so long to return to my quest!
Since July, I also found the ship manifest from ancestry.com, albeit just the first page - thanks for page 2. So many different spellings!

I didn't know there was a WWI draft registration - I will continue to track that down.

I don't understand my grandmother's maiden name - whether it was in fact Orasio-Ciaralli or just Ciaralli.

Also I don't understand what the Film is that you mention from familysearch.org. Are those records from Italy?

Thanks a huge amount.

Hello,
Corfinio civil record microfilms are until 1865.
So you can request their birth certificate (estratto per riassunto dell'atto di nascita) to

Comune
Ufficio di Stato Civile
Piazza Corfinio 2
67030 Corfino (AQ)
Italy

If you think Bonifacio was born somewhere else in the province of l'Aquila you can request his military record (foglio matricolare) or draft card (lista di leva) to Archivio di Stato di l'Aquila
I hope it helps
bye Riccardo

I'm searching for information about my paternal grandfather and grandmother, Rafaelle DiLillo, born 1879 from Modugno. And Teresa Gentile, born 1889 from Potenza. They settled in Chicago, IL. and were married around 1905 or '06.

Rafaelle's brothers Nick and Filippo came to Chicago as did Teresa's brother, Vito. She had some siblings living in Brazil and Argentina too. Vito finally settled in Modesto, Ca.

I am interested in Rafaelle DiLillo and Teresa Gentile's information only, thank you!

Hi Paulie!! Are you hoping to make a connection with this researcher, or do you need some help locating info on your family of the same surname??

If you would like help, I would suggest to start a new topic, posting all the available info you have on your ancestors. Such as the names of their children, and any documentation you have obtained. Also, are you interested in Italian records or still searching US records?

Looking forward to your post and any help we can provide!!

Welcome to ItalianGenealogy..... :)
