I would like to try to get the military records for Alfio Caruso born 1882 in Pedara. When I found his liste di estrazione on Family Search a while back there was a matricola number for him.
I looked at the website for the State Archive in Catania. There are ruoli matricolari pdfs for a few years to search but not his birth year.

They also have fascicoli personali dei militari pdfs but he is not in the one from 1882 or the one that is in index from that time period. Other men from Pedara are listed in these spreadsheets and I checked several years to be sure.

I have never contacted the Archives before. Does it look to you like the few years of ruoli matricolari are all they have or just all the ones they’ve made spreadsheets online for so far? Is it still possible that they may find something even if he is not in the fascicoli personal from his year?
Any advice on what to do next or what to say when I’m emailing the archive?
