Pop-Ups

Post by darkerhorse »

Does anyone else find the pop-up ads annoying?

It's affecting my experience to the point that I'm likely going to reduce my time on this website in response.

Do you have a pop-up blocker..?

I thought I did. How do I check?

I assumed these ads were part of this website. The most annoying ones appear on the bottom of the page and seem to float up a little.

I wish I could assert my O.P.

Check your browser. You can always do a search on how to enable a pop-up blocker there. You can also disable cookies. Sometimes all you can do when they appear is to hit the down arrow that should be at the lower LH corner & they should drop out of sight & not return as long as you don't refresh the page.

Yes. I checked my settings and the pop-up blocker is enabled. I'll have to check cookies.

These ads are relatively new in my experience on this website so i thought that it was something new being allowed or contracted by this website.

I may be wrong since some of the ads are local - for example, for a local supermarket. So. it's more likely the browser, I guess.

Looks like the ads are "served" by Google. Some "service". I hope they don't expect a tip.

They won't get one from me. See if Google has an ad blocker...

As long as I know it's not this forum at fault I can deal with it.
